Our advisory board consists of experienced people with unique industrial and/or financial knowledge. These are individuals we have either worked with or have been intellectually engaged with throughout our careers, some of them even dragged out of retirement. The board works as a discussion partner in our research efforts – with vast experience and longer dated knowledge the board members are an invaluable source of opportunities and an avoidance of costly mistakes. In addition to being a discussion partner on a situational basis, the board and portfolio managers meet annually for broader discussions.

The historical perspective and memories of old put today’s environment into a more thoughtful light. With long-dated investment experience first-hand from global commodities, equities, ventures & private equity, fixed income, and even a few start-ups all over the world, it is a good second opinion to check. “History might not repeat itself, but it rhymes,” were the words of Mark Twain - we should at least listen to the beat.

The full-time chairman of the advisory board is John Johnson. He and Filip Weintraub worked together at Crabbe Huson, and they have been discussing investments ever since.
